There is certainly no shortage of spots for engagement photos in Los Angeles. The hustle and bustle of the city is a savored backdrop if you want photos walking along the city streets or looking over the city from the Griffith Observatory. From Santa Monica to Malibu to Palos Verde Estates – there are endless spots, all overwhelmingly beautiful.
But this blog is about my favorite, somewhat secret, spot for engagement photos in Los Angeles. This spot is 30 miles from Downtown LA and 15 miles from Malibu, just far enough away to transport you to an oasis from the busy city. I found this spot a couple of years ago as my husband and I spent a Saturday afternoon driving around Topanga, with nowhere in particular to go. We stubbled upon a pull off in Topanga Canyon and simply followed the trail, before you know it the most beautiful expanse opened up before us.
The secret spot is the Tuna Canyon Trailhead, and it has become my go-to spot over the years. I have loved documenting engagement sessions, surprise proposals, and even elopements in this beloved spot.
That’s my secret spot! I will forever hold this spot near and dear to my heart. Enjoy a peak into this session, in my favorite secret spot.
