Antelope Valley Engagement, Los Angeles Photographer

I stepped out of my norm to document Liz & Landon in the Antelope Valley, and it was incredible. As a Los Angeles based engagement and wedding photographer, I had not previously traveled to Antelope Valley for work, but I’m so glad I did.

Out in the valley I captured Liz & Landon running, dancing, and laughing in the fields beside the mountains. These two have a carefree love and capturing it was a joy to witness and preserve.

I gathered a few things to keep in mind when photographing in the Antelope Valley.

Leave plenty of time for travel. This spot was roughly 2.5 hours from Los Angeles through the Angeles National Forest. With the windy roads and mountains, it can take a bit to get out there. I’d encourage extra time to ensure an on time arrival and safe travels!

Antelope Valley is actually home to California’s Poppy Reserve. A hidden jem in my opinion, and relatively close to Los Angeles. Liz, Landon, and I unfortunately missed the blooming of these gorgeous poppies despite our best efforts. Thankfully, the park has now implemented a live surveillance of the poppy fields so that you can see exactly what the area looks like before making the trek!

The location is endless! The poppy reserve fields are sprawling and have many hills to frolic in. There are also open roads with nearly zero traffic that we utilized for photos showcasing the roads, fields, and mountains all together. If that wasn’t enough, the iconic windmill of southern California are there as well! There is so much to work with and explore!

I hope you make the drive out to Antelope Valley and enjoy all the beauty it has to offer! Enjoy a sneak peak into Liz & Landon’s love, from the Antelope Valley.
